  • Consolidation Test Systems: CONBEL® Pneumatic Consolidation Systems (HM-354, 355, and 356)

    The Gilson CONBEL® Pneumatic Consolidation Systems, manufactured in cooperation with Karol-Warner, is an accurate and reliable loading mechanism for soils consolidation testing in accordance with ASTM D2435, ASTM D4546 and AASHTO T 216.

    The CONBEL is available in three different capacities when used with the 2.5” diameter consolidation cell.

    The HM-354 CONBEL® Pneumatic Consolidation Test System has load capacity from 1/16tsf to 32tsf (3,064.3kPa) and requires a minimum of 123psi (8.5bar) of compressed air, while the HM-355 CONBEL® Pneumatic Consolidation Test System load capacity is 64 TSF (6128.6 kPa) and requires a minimum of 188psi (13bar) of compressed air. And the HM-356 CONBEL® Pneumatic Consolidation Test System has a 16 TSF (1532.1 kPa) capacity and requires a minimum of 62psi (4.8bar) of compressed air.

    These rugged and dependable units indicate applied loads through a digital display with 0.25% accuracy, and use precision pressure regulators and pressure transducers with a linearity of ±0.1%. A precision Fairchild regulator is used to set and maintain air pressure.

    The 1in (25.4mm) thick aluminum platforms have adjustable centering pads and accept any consolidation ring up to 7.25in (184mm) diameter. Stainless steel vertical rods support the cross-head and dial gauge. These rugged units have a sturdy, powder coated finish steel cabinet, and a small footprint to save valuable bench space within the lab.

    And when combined with the Gilson HMA-83 2 1/2in fixed-ring consolidometer that consists of a stainless steel base, acrylic cylinder, cutting ring, clamping ring, upper and lower porous stones and load pad (HMA-81 Loading Ball is included with the load frame), to make the Gilson CONBEL® Pneumatic Consolidation Systems to right choice for your materials testing lab.
